The Office of the Actuary for Medicare has repudiated the official Annual Report of the Medicare Trustees that claimed that the new Obamacare law would strengthen the program. Chief Actuary Richard Foster called the Trustees Report "unreasonable" and "implausible."
The latest Rasmussen poll finds that 60% of voters want to repeal Obamacare. 36% want to keep it and 4% are undecided.
The Dept. of Health and Human Services is sending out $250 checks to 3.75 million seniors with a letter touting Obamacare. The Washington Examiner has editorialized, "Stop Obama's tax-paid propaganda."

The latest Gallup Poll shows the Republicans ahead 50% to 43% in races for Congress. Independents are leaning towards the GOP 47% to 37%.
In 10 statewide races, the GOP is ahead in 7, Democrats in 2, and there is 1 tie. Rand Paul (KY) and Pat Toomey (PA) lead; Sharron Angle (NV) is tied with Sen. Reid.

The Alliance Defense Fund and the Wisconsin Family Action have filed suit to stop Gov. Jim Doyle and the legislature from evading a state constitutional amendment protecting marriage. While the amendment specifically prohibits domestic partnerships, a provision of the state budget, sets up a scheme where same-sex couples can receive "declarations" identical to becoming husband and wife.
Dr. Charmaine Yoest, President of Americans United for Life, has warned of a major legislative battle upcoming in the Senate to prevent elective abortions at U.S. military installations. Senator John McCain (AZ) and Senator Roger Wicker (MS) are leading the fight to stop military facilities from being turned into abortion clinics. |
