The Mayflower Compact

"In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord, King James, by the Grace of God, of England, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, e&. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politic, . . ."

. . . for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In Witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, King James of England, France and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini, 1620."

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE: Steve wrote... "I've always thought all of the rights our constitution, all of our amendments, Bill of rights all of it was set down from our forfathers for AMERICANS not for people from across the world.PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME I'M NOT WRONG."
One would think you would be correct. But, LIBERALISM / PROGRESSIVISM does not agree with you. In seeking a One-World-UN-Run-Godless Governmental System, nations who have successfully fought and died for Freedom. Liberty, Prosperity must be "Dumbed-Down" and "Libertied-Down" so that we can all just live in perfect harmony. Right?

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE: Please God protect me from your followers and their interpretations of man's words called religion.!.!     Unsigned  08/31/2010        Thank you for your very intelligent comment. God Bless!!

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE: Muslims have a right to practice their religion just like the rest of us. But they are not building this mosque just a couple blocks from Ground Zero because they want a place to pray. It is a symbol of their victory on 9/11,and I am against it. There are over 100 mosques in NY,they can find somewhere else to build this one.   Unsigned   08/31/2010

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE: Muslim is not a religion, it is a violent, repressive ideology with a goal of world domination. Any US Citizens who fights for the Mosque and "rights" of those Muslims needs to be removed from office and punished for aiding terrorism in our country.  08/29/2010

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE: The Mosque "debate" at ground zero is something that cannot be ignored.  It is, however, unbelievable that we are even having this debate, considering how ridiculous it is that a country who has methodically proven to us that they wish for our total demise continues to argue and fight for their own "rights" within our soil.  Their right for WHAT?  To erect a memorium in honor of their killing thousands of our people for their own country's religious beliefs?  On our soil?  Beliefs that want to annihilate and destroy all of us! In our own country? This is an obvious symbol of supremacy for the Muslims.  Their goal is to take over and completely control our country.  Period.  This would represent an obvious symbol of sovereignty for the Muslim people.  We cannot let that happen in America.  America is too great for such complacency. We really need to get it done.  And soon!  Before it's too late!     Unsigned   08/28/2010

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE:  Muslims are arguing their right to build the victory mosque in the shadow of the Twin Towers based on our 1st Amendment protected freedom of speech and religion. How ironic this is, since Islam's own legal system forbids freedom of speech and religion. The funding for this 100 Million dollar center for Islamic teaching comes from Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Wahabiism, a radical jihadi school of Islam which preaches hate for Israel and the United States.
It also calls for world domination by Islam, and Shariah law.

The Muslim Brotherhood, another radical sect of Islam with the same goals as the Wahabis, has a strong foothold in the United States, and is affiliated with the large Islamic Centers which are being built around our country.

Given that this sect which claims to be the true form of Islam, is in fact a political group with designs on the take over of the United States, they should not be viewed as other religions.

In my opinion, the Victory Mosque, first called the Cordoba House, and now Park 51, should not be allowed to build on their proposed site. In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood and all Muslims who practice Shariah law should be expelled from the USA, as they are a radical political group which is actively planning and working toward the destruction of the Constitutional Republic called The United States of America.    Unsigned  08/27/2010

COMMENT ABOUT THE MOSQUE: Things are definitely bad when politicians stoop to support a group that want to destroy America.  They call this Mosque a community center.  For whom?  Not Christians, Jews, et al, unless such persons become Muslim.  Let's face it America, they are using our Laws against US very effectively.  There should not even be a discussion on a Mosquet being built in Manahattan if those we elected to office did their job in lieu of pandering for votes.  No Mosque, No Way, No Where.  These people are the modern day Horse of Troy.  They're not here to befriend us the are here to destroy us.   Unsigned  08/27/2010

THE MOSQUE: When the Greek Orthodox church is rebuilt, then we can talk about this Mosque. When Jews and Christians can worship freely in a Muslim country we can talk about this Mosque. When Muslims condem terrorists and stop strapping bombs on there own children we can talk about this Mosque. Until then don't build another Mosque in America      Unsigned 08/24/2010

If there are in fact "Muslims" in the United States of America who believe that "Islam" has been hijacked by powers and leaders who do not share their ideals for Islam, and if they do not have the power or ability to "regain" control of their "Religion," perhaps they need to leave the existing forms of Islam and create one that they and the rest of the world can live with. There have been "REFORMATIONS" within other religious groups in the past.

If there are in fact people who want to be considered to be "Muslims" who do believe in the "Freedom of Religion," who do want to live in peace under the Constitution of the United States of America, who do not want to live under Sharia Law, who can respect women, and who can disavow other aspects of the Islam that is on the attack throughout the world today, then it could be suggested that they form a "Reformed Muslims in America," or some other group. However, if their intent would be to live and behave as Muslim immigrants have in Europe and other areas of the world, then they should not be welcomed into the USA and those who are here should leave. There would be no common ground upon which to admit them. Americans do have the right to determine that something or someone is UN-AMERICAN!

Unsigned Reader Comment - 08/23/2010  (Ameritianity response in BLUE)
...."As far as the separation of church and state, it was actually mentioned in some of Thomas Paine's early writings and was echoed by Benjamin Franklin in some of his writings in his Philadelphia based newspaper. As he saw it, people shouldn't be forced to pay a tax to support a religion they did not practice. He actually was not a church going person, nor was the majority of the "Founding Fathers" of our country..."     Early Christians

It is always helpful to define terms. We are not saying that the words of and theory of “Separation of Church and State” never took place. We believe the term "Separation of Church and State" had the original intent of preventing one Christian Denomination from being declared the official US or State religion over others and preventing the intrusion by government into the free exercise of religion.

One would logically think that if your absolute definition was what they intended, there would certainly not have been prayer in congress, prayer in schools, posting of the Ten Commandments, and other clearly Judeo-Christian influence in our nation for its' first 200 years. If you are correct, why did it take us so long to implement your version of SOC&S? How did every state in the nation have laws against abortion? Why did we have Sunday closing laws and "Blue Laws? Why did, and still do, many states have as a requirement for high office the minimal belief in a "Supreme Being?"

Read the
Mayflower Compact which includes the statements “…for the advancement of the Christian Faith… & …forming a body politic.”
I would ask you, How foolish do we have to be to think that the US "Freedom of Religion," which is guaranteed by our Constitution, would apply to a group of people who come here and demand “Freedom of Religion” when in fact their very group does not believe in, accept, or allow “Freedom of Religion,” and in fact do not support the US Constitution, but rather expect us to accept another legal system, Sharia Law, as a part of their “Freedom of Religion” demands. Think about it!

Islam is not a "
Religion" as contemplated by the "Freedom of Religion" provisions of our Constitution. To believe otherwise would be to believe that the US Constitution is a self-destructive, self-defeating document.

Additionally, others do not agree with your representation of the faith of many of our founders as can be see HERE and HERE and HERE.

(NOTE: The following discussion often includes the term "Baptist." It should be noted that several organizations in the USA use the term Baptist and usually share their faith and belief in our creator God the Father, Jesus His Son and our Savior, and The Holy Spirit. There are a number of different views among Baptists on a number of issues. They may be on Biblical interpretation, politics, social issues, etc. Those differences of opinion tend to surface in discussions like this. We welcome any response from those quoted herein.)

Below is a link to the article written by Mr. Marv Knox, editor of the Baptist Standard publication, regarding the "Ground Zero Mosque" issue. We respectfully disagree and would welcome your opinions and comments on this issue. Mr. Knox's words are in black. The Ameritianity response is in blue.

BAPTIST STANDARD

MASS CONFUSION IN THE LIBERAL / PROGRESSIVE / SOCIALIST / "CHRISTIAN LEADERS" CAMP

"The political debate over whether Muslims should be allowed to build a mosque near Ground Zero is making a mockery of the First Amendment. It also denies a principle Baptists have championed for 400 years."

Actually Mr. Knox, it is you who has consistently made a “mockery” of the First Amendment. You claim to have knowledge of American History yet you ignore the obvious facts. First, the issue in the early days of American History, and the issue that led to the First Amendment, had to do with differing Christian Denominations being the official religion of the USA or the various States. It had nothing to do with non-Christian religions. It had nothing to do with Islam, Hinduism, or any of the other world religions.

Your writings also have insisted in your definition of an absolute separation of Church and State. Why then would you even want to interject your understanding of  “a principle Baptists have championed for 400 years” (a religious perspective) into a political debate.

"You know the story: Muslims have applied for permits to build a mosque about two or three blocks from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. New York city authorities have moved ahead with the process. Because of the pain and anguish inflicted by Islamist terrorists who crashed two airplanes into the World Trade Center towers Sept. 11, 2001, many people have opposed a mosque so near ground sanctified by the blood of the crash victims. Now, politicians from all over the country have jumped into the fray."

The leaders of the Muslims who are pushing for the ground zero location also promote Hamas, they promote the introduction of Sharia Law in America, they promote the destruction of Israel, and they seek for America to become more “Sharia compliant.”  Mr. Knox, why would you expect our Constitutional Right to “Freedom of Religion” to apply to a group of people who themselves do not believe in the very “Freedom of Religion” they base their demands on and they do not believe in the authority of the very Constitution that contains the “Freedom of Religion” clause?  Also, why do you not mention the views of the many Muslims in America who oppose this site for a Mosque?

This is a tender situation. Our wounds have not healed in the nine years since senseless violence turned the world upside down. For many of us, the crashes in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania turned 9/11/2001 into one of the saddest days of our lives. Even those of us who did not lose someone we knew personally still grieve deeply for the loss of life."

And now you want to assist supporters of these same terrorists in building a monument to their success in using our Freedoms against us in their successful attack?

"Intense turmoil"

"The tragedy has been fraught with religious turmoil, too. The terrorists who commandeered those planes slaughtered innocent lives in the name of Allah. In the meantime, others have committed suicide bombings and waged war and instigated other acts of terrorism in the name of Allah. So, many people—including millions of Americans—have assumed Islam is a hateful, terrorist religion. No wonder they feel revulsion at the thought of an Islamic mosque so near a place so sacred."

Many Americans have an opinion based on their observation of Islam over their lifetime and it has not shown to be a peaceful "religion." There is no nation/state in the world that is predominately Islamic that tolerates the very "Freedom of Religion" these same Muslims demand of Americans when they come here. We remember the massive demonstrations in the streets in Muslim cities on 9/11 in support of the terrorists.

Many of America’s Muslims also oppose this site for the Mosque because they understand exactly why it is wrong. Please name for us the countries in which Muslims have consistently lived in peace.

"If you step back from raw emotion, however, you realize judging Islam by terrorists is like judging Christianity by the Ku Klux Klan or the Aryan Nations or other racist hate groups. They do not represent your church or mine, or the way we understand how Christians should behave. And the Islamist terrorists do not represent peace-loving Muslims the world over, and particularly here in America, where so many have proven themselves to be loyal and patriotic citizens."

Mr. Knox, the KKK was not a state sponsored organization, even though a number of Liberal politicians were members of this organization. Same for the Aryan Nations. Islam refers to itself as the “Nation of Islam” and even President Obama knows that the “Nation of Islam” in made up of 57 Islamic states.

"And they are citizens ( are they "Citizens" and do "Citizens" fund these Mosques? ) whose constitutional rights are protected as stringently and explicitly as the rights of Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Catholics and anyone else."

Historically, immigrants have come to the USA in order to partake of the freedoms that exist here. Muslims are the first to arrive and then demand that even our legal system be changed to become more “Sharia compliant.” Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Catholics, Greeks, Italians, Germans, … the vast majority of immigrants did not come here to destroy us or change us. Their political loyalty became to the United States of America and they realize how blessed they were to get here. Interesting that all the groups you mentioned were Christians.
The USA is built upon a Judeo-Christian foundation which is the only foundation in the world that would recognize and offer “Freedom of Religion.”

"Religious guarantees"

"The First Amendment guarantees that the government shall not prohibit the free exercise of religion. Telling a congregation of Muslims they cannot build a mosque is prohibiting their free exercise of religion—even if the desire to do so is completely understandable. If Baptists or Catholics were attempting to build a church on that spot, the point would be moot. But because Muslims are asking, then refusal is patently discriminatory."

Actually … if a Baptist or Catholic sponsored group had attacked the WTC and killed 3000+ Americans, we would not promote their building of a church there either.  By the way Mr. Knox, do you consider Catholics to be Christians or are they a cult? How about Mormons? Also, if a Christian who felt that it was evil to abort babies shot and killed an abortionist who had been responsible for killing 10,000 babies … and to prevent the killing of more babies in the future ... would you support his actions on “Freedom of Religion” grounds? If not, aren’t you limiting his “Freedom of Religion?” Are we not as a nation entitled to do the same when dealing with a religious group that has the stated purpose to destroy America and Israel?

"Baptist role models of liberty"

"Baptists, of all people, should stand with Muslims in their right to build a mosque. Our early history was written with the blood of martyrs who fought for religious liberty—first for themselves, but for all people."

Mr. Knox, it is doubtful that Christian martyrs were fighting for the religious freedom for their enemies to kill them on the basis of “Freedom of Religion.” Baptists fought and died for the cause of Christ. Baptists do not strap on explosives and attack "the infidels" with the intent of killing them while killing themselves. Baptist martyrs did not set out to kill or die. Their deaths were at the hands of those who fight against Christians on a mission to fulfill the
Great Commission."

"The founders of the Baptist movement, John Smyth and Thomas Helwys, were English Separatists ( so, they were involved in politics and did not share your views on separation of church and state?) who fled to Amsterdam, Holland, for religious liberty. Through their reading of Scripture, they became what we know as Baptists. When Helwys returned to England, he wrote a tract directed to King James I, declaring the king is not sovereign over individual conscience, and all people should be free to worship God (do you really believe he meant any pagan god or idol or was he against the establishment of a State Church) as they see fit. King James (yes, that King James) threw Helwys in Newgate Prison, where he died."

It would appear that these gentlemen did not share your demand for the “Wall of Separation between Church and State.”

"A few decades later, in the New World, the first Baptist in America, Roger Williams, and his family were thrown out of Massachusetts Bay Colony for refusing to allow the Congregational Church to baptize their infant child. They would have died in the dead of winter had not the local Native Americans rescued them.

Williams went on to found Rhode Island, where he also started the first Baptist church in America, First Baptist of Providence. In the Rhode Island charter, Williams stated his Baptist principles—religious liberty for all people. He guaranteed that Baptists, Quakers, Jews, Catholics, even unbelievers, should be free to worship—or not—as their consciences dictated." (Mr. Knox…the above disproves your theory that the USA is NOT built upon Christian principles and your “Wall of Separation” theory.) "And, lest we think he just didn't know about all religions, Williams specifically advocated religious freedom for the people he called "Turks"—Muslims." (The “Turks” of the 17th and 18th centuries had very little in common with those of the 20th and 21st centuries. Not all Baptists have agreed on everything either, just as you have admitted that likely the majority of Baptists do not agree with your views on numerous issues from "waterboarding" to "abortion." I will ask you again ... do you support a womans right to an abortion? ) "Another Baptist minister, John Leland of Virginia, helped convince  James Madison to secure the guarantees for religious liberty in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

"Live up to legacy"

"So, Baptists' clear legacy is to stand with all people—even people whose religion mystifies and scares us—to ensure their right to worship when and where they feel they should.
This is hard, especially in such a tender and sensitive place and time. But the surest test of character happens when the issues are complicated, when the majority doesn't understand, when most is at stake."

Mr. Knox, if your final statement were true, why don’t Christians send missionaries throughout the world to fight for the non-Christians right to worship false gods in error in the name of “Freedom of Religion?” Why? Because that is not the “Great Commission.”

Mr. Knox, does your personal Christian Church invite non-Christians in to practice their "Freedom of Religion" among your congregation knowing that they oppose you and the cause of Christ? Do the Muslims invite Christians in? Should Americans invite in any political or religious group that operates openly in opposition to OUR "Freedom of Religion" and our Constitutional Legal System?

Should we be so foolish as to have millions of Christians for over 200 years to follow the Biblical mandate and "humble themselves and pray" that God would "heal their land" only to allow those fighting against Christ to come in among us as a Trojan Horse and destroy that which our God has provided as a result of our obedience? Shouldn't we protect our Nation in the same way that we would protect our family?

On 08/20/2010 Mr. Knox went on to write:

"Here's an irony: While so much political hay is being made out of the possibility of a mosque two blocks from the edge of the World Trade Center property—and more like six blocks from the nearest of the two towers that fell—nary a peep is made about the fact an underground mall is being built on the very site of the towers. So, the exact location in the world where so many people—Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists and others—fell to their deaths is the very place where people will go to buy skanky clothes from Abercrombie and Fitch or batteries from Radio Shack or beer from a liquor store—or whatever they ultimately put down there. Such commercialism of the property seems to be a desecration of the specific sacred space, and this issue is not even encumbered by challenging and nuanced church-state policies."

Mr. Knox, it has always been the intent to RE-BUILD on the exact site of the World Trade Center Towers 1&2. As you may know, it was freedom, including the "Freedom of Religion," Christianity, the Religion you claim, the free market system, capitalism (which freely GIVES much more than any other economic system in history), and Democracy that the Muslims were attacking on 9/11, just as they have all over the world. The original center was an office/retail project where visitors and workers in the area shopped and worked. It included an underground mall. Part of the site will also be a memorial. Please go HERE to continue your education on this subject.

Where do you buy your skanky clothes? Don't you sell coffee in your Church on Sunday and food on Wednesdays as a fund raiser? I sense a bit of sarcasm in your recent post. You will find that your particular view of "nuanced church-state policies," "Separation of Church and State," and "Freedom of Religion" are shared by, at most, 20% of Americans. This period of minority rule is about to come to and end in America. Weren't you against minority rule in South Africa?

To repeat, the Constitutional Guarantee of Freedom of Religion in the United States of America certainly could never apply to a group of people who claim to be a "Religious Group" if that group neither believes in "Freedom of Religion" nor the authority of the US Constitution. Think about it!

Another writer had this to say on the Baptist Standard website controlled by Mr. Knox:

"I am about as conservative as they come. Have been a Baptist pastor for over 30 years. What alarms me more than a mosque in New York is the politicization of Baptist life and the decay of our historic grasp on religious liberty. Before we cry out against this mosque, we better be ready for the anti-God, extreme secularists to cry out against our next church building - wherever we decide to put it! Many Baptists have fought and given their lives for religious freedom - of every kind. We must not fall into this political trap - for next time our necks will be in the noose. What happened to us?"

Ameritianity Responds:  What has happened to us is that our Churches have been filled with apologetic, fearfull pastors who make silly statements like yours. On the one hand, folks like you and Marv insist on a wall of separation between Church and State, yet, here you are getting involved in politics just to tell Christians who do not share YOUR views to not get involved in politics. You appear to want Christians to hide out some where while evil people come into our country and then demand "Freedom of Religion" for themselves while not really believing in "Freedom of Religion" at all ... while making their demand based on our system of Constitutional Law which they don't support and seek to replace with Sharia law. It is unfortunate that you were not around to tell David to just let Goliath do what he wanted to do ... and to fight for Goliaths anti-God, anti-Christian rights.

You folks insist on a "Wall of Separation" between Church and State, twist it to mean that Christians should have little to say about government and demand that the USA was not founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs, then encourage Christians to set by as the so called "Religious" group of Islam, which clearly does not support your "Separation of Church" any place in the world, destroys the very fabric of our nation. I'm beginning to think that the author of the book "Liberalism in a Mental Disorder" had a good point.

You are the same folks who see nothing wrong with people from other nations and cultures coming into the USA illegally, insist that we accept their cultures, while allowing our culture to be replaced because you say all cultures must be accepted even if their culture calls for the destruction of ours.

But, never fear. The United States of America has had Patriots who have stood up, spoken out, and enlisted to serve our nation for over 200 years and many are getting fired up to end the Liberal experiment in our Nation and our Churches that has run rampant for the past 50 years or so. You will be protected by REVIVAL.

You said you are a "Conservative?" This is what Bro. Knox has previously said about Conservative Christians. You may want to change your label: "

"People who embrace this system of belief call themselves 'conservative Christians'. But when I try to
exegete their faith, it presents itself as a mix of rigid-right politics, American exceptionalism and a kind of
cultural Christianity that’s at least as much about middle-class suburban U.S. culture as it is about Christ."

Marv Knox, Editor of the
Baptist Standard.  (Link)

Another individual who maintains some control and influence over what appears in another Baptist publication/organization is Robert Manus. Mr. Manus is managing editor and Washington bureau chief for Associated Baptist Press. The ABP is affiliated with the Baptist Standard and Mr. Marv Knox, editor of the “Standard,” is a board member of the ABP. Manus wrote an article entitled “Growing number confused about Obama’s faith, oppose church politicking” in which Manus quoted an August 19th Pew Research Center poll about the opinion of 3003 people relative to their perception of Obama’s faith.

Manus stated:

(1)   “The poll of 3,003 American adults dealt with their political and religious views and was conducted between July 21 and Aug. 5. On Obama’s faith, only 34 percent correctly answered that he was a Christian -- down 14 points from the 48 percent who said he was when a similar survey was taken in March 2009.”

(2)   “A full 18 percent of respondents said they thought Obama was a Muslim -- up from 11 percent who thought so last year.”

(3)   “And a plurality of respondents -- 43 percent -- said they didn’t know what faith Obama practiced. That’s up nine points from the previous survey.”

(4)   “The proportion of respondents who believed Obama was a Muslim tracked closely with their political views of him. Thirty-four percent of those who said they were conservative Republicans incorrectly identified Obama as a Muslim -- up 16 points among that category of respondents form last year. And 30 percent of those who disapprove of the president's job performance said he was a Muslim.”

(5)   “But not even a majority of Democrats correctly identified Obama’s faith. Only 46 percent of self-described Democrats said Obama was a Christian, down from 55 percent last year. The percentage of Democrats who said they believed Obama was a Muslim was essentially unchanged from the previous survey.”

(6)   "However, the study noted, “both blacks and whites are less likely today to say Obama is a Christian.”

“...only 34 percent correctly answered that he was a Christian...” ??
   "...
conservative Republicans incorrectly identified Obama as a Muslim..." ??

Thank goodness we have Mr. Manus to finally settle this question. We are not sure how he came to this conclusion, but we do know that Obama has made the following statements:

(1)   “There are many paths to the same place”
(2)   “I have the highest rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL” (pro-abortion groups)
(3)   “...I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction...” (Speaking of Arab's & Pakistani's)
(4)   “America is one of the largest Muslim nations”
(5)   “I would not want my daughter to be punished by having a baby just because she made a mistake”
(6)   “If a baby remains alive after an abortion attempt, it must be allowed to die since that was the original intent of the mother”

While we are not prepared to make a “judgment” as to Obama’s faith, like Mr. Manus has, we do not believe that Obama’s statements are in step with traditional Christian principles and values.

Tawfik Hamid: Ground Zero Mosque Islamic Victory Symbol

Wednesday, 18 Aug 2010 01:47 PM

By: Jim Meyers

Islamic expert Tawfik Hamid tells Newsmax that many Muslims will view the construction of a mosque near ground zero as symbolizing a “triumph over America.”

He also declares that if the mosque is built it could prove to be the “spark” that begins a “war between civilizations.”

Hamid is well acquainted with the threats from radical Islam — he was once a member of a terrorist Islamic organization along with Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri, who later became the second in command of al-Qaida.

Today Hamid is a senior fellow and chair for the Study of Islamic Radicalism at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. He is the author of "Inside Jihad: Understanding and Confronting Radical Islam," and a regular Newsmax contributor.

President Barack Obama said over the weekend that the Muslims have the right to build the mosque near ground zero in Manhattan, although he later stated he did not advocate the construction. But New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has said he does advocate construction.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Hamid criticized Bloomberg’s advocacy of the mosque.

“I believe he did this without doing the most basic step, which is to make sure that the leaders of the mosque are truly moderates,” Hamid says.

“I don’t have any specific negative things against them except for the issue of Hamas. They support Hamas. This is a very serious issue. It means they support killing innocent children in the name of Islam. This is what Hamas does. He should have made sure first that this group [that wants to build the mosque] is moderate.

“He should have asked them, if they are truly moderate, shall they tell us, and tell the media and tell the world, their position on the violent Shariah teachings, such as killing the apostate and stoning women to death and declaring wars to spread their religion.

“How could he consider them moderate without making sure that they stand clearly and unambiguously against the violent ethics of Shariah?”

As for why he personally opposes construction of the mosque, Hamid says: “Many Islamists believe that this is a sign of victory for Islam, a triumph over America. It’s a symbol of victory for Islam over the values of America.”

Questions have arisen over where the funding for the $100 million mosque project is coming from. Hamid says: “Mostly from Muslims around the world — most likely personal donations from people who want to see Islam victorious in the West.”

Asked if the mosque project will further polarize Muslims and non-Muslims, Hamid says: “Absolutely. It will create friction between civilizations, and I’m afraid it can be the spark that will start the big fire of a war between civilizations, because I can see people are getting angry.

“And it shows a lot of insensitivity from the Muslim side. Doing something legal does not mean that you are sensitive to others.”

Hamid was also asked why Muslims aren’t speaking out more against Islamic radicals.

He questioned “how many Muslims are true moderates here.

“Some people pretend they are moderates but they are not moderates. And there are some people who do not have the theological knowledge to discredit the beliefs of the radicals.

“It’s tribal mentality. We haven’t seen demonstrations in the Muslim world against bin-Laden, for example. So it’s sort of a tribal mentality that makes them unable to criticize their fellow Muslim brothers.”

Mr. Knox has also previously expressed his opinion of "Conservative Christians."

Americans are tired of the Liberal / Socialist / Progressive leadership that has deceptively taken control of our Government and many Christian Churches in America. This has led to the distrust of governmental officials and the decline in attendance in our Churches. We pray that this situation of "Minority Rule" ( in thought, objective, and moral view ) is about to change.

"A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague."

Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America - (Autographed)(Hardcover)

By P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry

Product Description

You've heard about the courageous young investigators who covertly videotaped officials of ACORN advocating illegal activities.

Now, get ready for an undercover exposé even more daring and audacious – a six-month penetration of the Council on American-Islamic Relations that resulted in the collection of thousands of pages of revealing documents as well as inside secrets.

This is what "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America" by P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry delivers.

It has all the elements of a top-flight mystery novel, but the situations and conversations are absolutely real. The book’s frightening allegations are well supported by more than twelve thousand pages of confidential, internal CAIR documents secretly extracted during an unprecedented undercover operation.

This trail of information reveals the insidious and well-funded efforts of the seditious Muslim Brotherhood under the nonprofit guise of CAIR to fully support the international jihad against the United States, with the goal of transforming American society from within. They hope to accomplish this through terrorist activities, fraud, and infiltration of our political and intelligence systems, which these documents clearly reveal.

Follow co-author Dave Gaubatz’s son Chris as he courageously gains the trust of CAIR’s inner sanctum, working undercover as Davis Marshall, a converted and devoted follower of the Muslim religion.

What you'll learn in this book:

  • Which politicians are given money by CAIR.
  • How Capitol Hill staffers are strategically placed by CAIR.
  • Why FBI bonuses are paid to agents who are nice to CAIR.
  • Why our government is afraid to reveal what they really know about CAIR.
  • How CAIR has compromised our intelligence systems.
  • How CAIR is secretly working with government officials to ban the Patriot Act to make future attacks against our country even easier.
  • And the list goes on....
