Letter from a reader - 01/14/2012:
I stumbled across your website this morning and have perused it some. It has quite a lot of information. One thing I noted in perusing it was that you seem to be promoting Mitt Romney for President in 2012. Yet you link to http://christianadc.org/resources/seven-reasons-campaign, “Seven Reasons Barack Obama is not a Christian.” Yet I could probably list reasons why Mitt Romney is not a Christian. Can you provide me with one good Biblical reason that Mitt Romney is a Christian?
Rick Santorum is a conservative Roman Catholic as is New Gingrich. Michelle Bachmann was an evangelical Christian.
John Jay was one of the authors of the Federalist Papers, and was appointed first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court by President Washington. He accurately summed up the meaning of God's commandments:
Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."
Some including myself perceive a contradiction in that your website promotes the idea that our nation was founded on Christian principles, yet you promote a candidate for President who is not a Chrisitan, but rather a member of a cult. I would be curious to know how you justify that.
I do not intend this e-mail to be disrespectful – so I hope you do not perceive it that way. Rather, I just wanted to have you re-consider your endorsement of political candidates who are not Christian.

Personally, I am a 62 year old Baptist and have attended Baptist or Nazarene Churches all my life. I have been a Steward in the Nazarene Church and a Bible Study Teacher in the Baptist Church. I have heard Baptists say that Nazarenes are not Christian because they believe you can lose your Salvation. I have heard Baptists and Nazarenes say that Catholics aren't Christians and are the world largest cult. I have heard Independent Baptists say that Southern Baptists aren't Christians for one reason or another. I attended a Catholic Church for a year and they believe they are the only real Church and have created a ton of man made ideas to answer many questions God has chosen not to reveal to us yet.
I take the position of the MUSTARD SEED. I don't think we need to get EVERYTHING exactly correct to be a Christian:
Matthew 10:32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.
Luke 12:8 "I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.
Acts 2:24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
Acts 2:32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.
Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."
Romans 4:24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
Romans 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Do I wish there was a candidate who is a Baptist and sees everything like I do - and could win? Yep. I know Baptist leaders who I would say are Socialists and Communists. But I do not say they are not Christians. There are people in every Church and Denomination in America whose true beliefs are not in step with the "OFFICIAL" positions of the Church they attend....or were "BORN" into.
I have also done a lot of study of the LDS and find that many of the negative statements that "CHRISTIANS" have to say about them are not accurate or are taken out of context . . . or were rejected by them many years ago . . . much like the SBC regarding race, or makeup, or women wearing pants, or dancing, or working or shopping on Sunday.
Mormons DO READ and believe the same Bible we do. They do have the Book of Mormon . . . and believe there was a Prophet that we don't recognize. But we have "prophets" also ... and Prophecy is a Spiritual Gift. More Christians read and follow the writing of others . . . like the Purpose Driven Life and the Prayer Of Jabez . . . then there are Mormons on the planet.
Obama was believed to be a Christian and MANY voted for him on that basis. He attended a Black Liberation Theology Church run by Rev Wright. He has since turned out to be a nightmare for America.
Romney is not an unknown quantity. There is tons of info available about him. The simple fact is that were he not a Mormon, other Christians would be flocking to him for all the other reasons his life, experience, family, demeanor, intelligence, etc. represents.
Personally . . . I believe Mitt is a Christian regardless of where he goes to Church and regardless of the intricate details of the LDS. I remember when Baptists called Nazarenes a Cult. To me, ones status as a Christian is based on whether one believes on the one true God, Jesus, places ones Faith in Christ as Savior, etc. I don't believe someone has to have a degree from a Christian Seminary, fully understand The Trinity, fully understand who the Devil is, understand Angels, etc. I take Romney at his word and look at his life and the fruits of his life, family, character, experience, etc.

Phil, I am a 61.85 year old (you have to count decimals when you get to be our age) evangelical who converted from agnosticism to Christianity in 1972 through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. I am a Civil Engineer by profession. In May of this year, I will graduate from Biola University with a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Apologetics. I currently attend a non-denomination evangelical church. That is my background. It sounds like you and I pretty much agree on issues related to Biblical salvation by grace through faith in Christ. In addition to the verses you cited, I also look to: · John 3:16 (of course…) · John 8:24 – “… for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins.” (Note that the word “He” is not in the Greek manuscripts – hence, it is italicized). Perhaps the rendering might be “… for unless you believe that I AM, you shall die in your sins.” (Full disclosure – I am not a Greek scholar.) · John 14:6 – “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.” · Romans 10:9-10 as you listed · Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” · I John 5:11-13 – “And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.” Based on the verses you listed and those above, it seems pretty clear that salvation is a gift from God received through faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ via His death on the cross and resurrection. I think you and I would agree on that. But, as they say in Texas, here is the ‘rub.’ Paul, in II Corinthians 11:4 states “For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.” What does he mean by “another Jesus?” Paul implies here that there is a different Jesus, a different gospel, and a different spirit than that he apostles preached. Those that classify Mormonism as a cult do so primarily because the Mormon definitions of God, Jesus, etc. are significantly different than those in mainstream Christianity. Are Mormons speaking of “another Jesus?” That is a complex question. First, Mormon theology on the surface appears to be pretty orthodox. However, when one digs down deeper into their lesser known doctrines and teachings, there appears to be dramatically different origins of God and Jesus. According to Mormon doctrine: · God was once a man as we are ( http://www.i4m.com/think/leaders/god_was_man.htm) · God was one God among many. Our God is the one who came to be in charge of this particular world. [Joseph Smith also said, "In the beginning the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods" (T. of P.J.S., p. 349). And Orson Pratt declared, "If we should take a million of worlds like this and number their particles, we should find that there are more Gods than there are particles of matter in those worlds" (J. of D., Vol. II, p. 345)]. · Mormons who live a good life and are saved will be God in their own world someday (based on my personal conversation with two Mormon missionaries about 6 years ago. I had to show them their own Mormon writings to get them to admit it, though.) · Jesus was the spirit brother of Lucifer. Also, Jesus was the first created spirit. ( http://mormonchurch.com/587/do-mormons-believe-jesus-and-satan-are-brothers) The question in my mind, then, “is the Mormon God and the Mormon Jesus the same as ours or different? But then a second rub occurs. I just visited the Mormon website ( http://mormon.org/jesus-christ/) and watched the Finding Faith in Christ video (about half way down the web page) which depicts events and words of Jesus Christ as depicted in our New Testament. It appears to me to be the same Jesus as we teach (i.e., raised Lazarus from the dead, died on the cross, resurrected, etc.). But we also know that Mormons teach that Jesus visited the American Indians after the resurrection – something we do not believe. So considering all I have stated above, I should probably retract my conclusion (which I jumped to) that Mormonism is a cult. But at the same time, I would not want to jump to the conclusion that Mormonism is a legitimate Christian denomination. There are certainly critical doctrines in Mormonism that concern me greatly. That said, I also realize that some in the Mormon Church may not hold to those doctrines at all. But when any Mormon claims to have placed their faith in Jesus, I have to question just who that Jesus is. I make it a practice to do the same when someone tells me that they are a Christian. I always try to ask them what they mean when they say that. Many who claim to be Christians deny the deity of Christ, His resurrection, etc. Back to my original point in my initial e-mail. I certainly prefer Mitt Romney over Obama, even if he is a traditional Mormon who believes that Jesus was the brother of Lucifer. I recall watching Rick Warren’s interview with Barack Obama and John McCain. Both of them responded that they considered Jesus as their personal savior, but then that was a political expedient thing to say at a church. I was aware that Obama had attended Jeremiah Wright’s church promoting Black Liberation Theology in lieu of orthodox Christianity. So I was not surprised that he was not a Christian. I also watched the Romney interview link you provided me. I had not heard him state before that he “believes in Jesus Christ as [his] savior.” I have come to believe that one’s theology is extremely important in life in that, if held passionately, it determines how one behaves. Obama’s theology comes through loud and clear in the way in which he governs (or should I say, dictates). The American Founders were mostly Protestant Calvinist Christians, and that theology also is strongly expressed in our Founding Documents. (Possibly more on that in future e-mails.). On a final note, I also have experienced different groups claiming that other groups were not Christians. It has been that way for centuries. When Thomas Jefferson was running for President, it was alleged that he was not fit to be President since he was not a true Christian. He responded in a letter that he was a “true Christian” in that he followed the teachings of Jesus Christ. We know that to be the wrong definition of “Christian,” but it is demonstration that it has been occurring for a long, long time. When someone tells me that such and such is not Christian, I try to guide them back to the Biblical definition of a Christian as we defined in our e-mails earlier. My 22 year old son will be changing over to Roman Catholicism in May, and attending confirmation. I do not consider that he is leaving Christianity nor does the Roman Catholic Church require him to be re-baptized. They consider him to be a Christian already since he was baptized at a Calvary Chapel as a child. One human fault that will always be with us on this earth is the tendency to divide (blacks against whites, males against females, Protestants against Catholics, Christians against non-Christians). I enjoy dialogs such as this and often learn something (such as Mitt Romney’s confession). You may use anything I write in my e-mails. I would assume that you would strive to quote me in context to preserve my intent in any statement. I look forward to future dialog.

First of all Happy Easter...Jesus is ALIVE.... PTL.
I just wanted to say that America has finally awakened. That spirit of deception in the White House is being revealed. That spirit of corruption is also being revealed...and guess what...both parties are guilty.
Now America has to get on its knees and pray and fast like their lives depend it on...because their lives do depend on it.
I know that we are near the end times...but I truly believe that America will be used mightily in these last days to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The enemy is not very happy with this.
We must love Israel and help them...after all our messiah is also Jewish. Then God will bless us.
America...2012 pray for a Conservative Christian to be empowered by God with wisdom and knowledge like Solomon...with power and strength like David. We'll need someone to clean up this mess...set us on the right course...and the windows of Heaven will open and God will pour out a blessing upon America.
We need a President that will stand up in Washington and say "AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION".
We need a President that will stand up against ABORTION and the abomination of HOMOXESUALITY.
We need a President that will not cave in to the UNIONS and the MUSLIMS TERRORISTS.
But most of all we need a President that will love GOD with all his/her heart, mind and body.

I agree. Our rights as individuals end where the rights of others begin. When in the course of observing a "religion", whatever that religion may be, a person or group demands special rights that violate the established constitutional right of others, that particular religion then ceases to be recognized as such.

The foundation of this great country is guided by a Constitution and a system of laws. Today we witness the Constitution being subverted and laws avoided to appease a few. This is not only illegal but also thwarts American values and freedoms. Part of this is the drive to grant amnesty to those that have broken our laws in many ways starting with illegal entry into this country. If these criminals would use all of their energy to fight for the freedoms and fortunes they desire in their homelands the world would be much stronger and the United States would be free from desparities they bring. Our population has almost reached a point where the infrastructure will be destroyed because the jobs are not available to meet the tax goals required to maintain operations of this country. We should never allowed it to get this close and simple economics support my theory. Hopefully the strength and voices we see in the Tea Party will grow stronger and stronger! Lisa, several things come to mind. The first, on the topic of Freedom of Religion, is that as a Christian I believe that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the Creator of "Freedom of Religion." He does not force someone to accept His plan of Salvation and Eternal Life. As Christians, we don't seek out all the non-believers for the purpose of "killing the infidels" ... unless in war or battle for self-defense ... because we hold out hope for the Salvation of all who are lost. This is why we feel so strongly about the uniqueness of America. In our Declaration of Independence, our founders recognized that all men are CREATED with certain INALLIENABLE RIGHTS that we have been ENDOWED with by THE CREATOR (not that they were granted by government...inallienable meaning that government cannot take them away). We also know that we are to "Seek and ye shall find," that "God's ways are not our ways," and that while mankind was created in God's image, He also gave mankind "Free Will" and some have chosen to reject Him. Also:
Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter ; and we all [are] the work of thy hand.
Romans 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?
I "believe" by FAITH. Faith is belief in things not seen. We are saved by God's Mercy and Grace. We can never be good enough to earn Salvation. We can also never be smart or intellectual or educated enough to understand everything about our Creator God . . . He has told us Himself that we can't (God’s Ways are Not Our Ways 1 Cor. 1:25) . "Seek and ye shall find." There is evidence all around of the existence of our Creator. This prompts us to seek. There is the "Spiritual" aspect of God. He draws us to Him. There is the "Witness" of other believers. Lisa, my prayer is that you will see God through His Creation, sense his calling through His Spirit, hear the witness of those who have gone before you, "Seek" because you know something is missing, and "Find" that the only answer is God, His Plan, Faith, Surrender, Mercy, and Grace. Look to His Word, the Bible. I suggest starting with the Book of Romans. Please know ... no one was born a Christian.

Politically, I would almost rather work with an Atheist like yourself than a Christian who believes that Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Re-Distribution of Wealth, Big Government, etc., is best. By going into Iraq we were in a better position to watch Iran and we established a base of operation from there. President Bush said this was a war that would never be over. There was a time in our nation when most folks loved this country and wanted basically the same thing with minor differences of opinion. Today, however, there are those among us who really want to CHANGE just about everything about America, to redefine who we are, and to re-write even the history of America. We must realize that today there are people who are ANTI-AMERICAN - meaning against everything that we are about and have been about since our founding. Liberals want to redefine everything from "Freedom of Religion" to the "Separation of Powers," to "Sovereignty" and defining "Christianity." Like Mrs. Obama said ... she had never been proud of this nation until her husband was nominated to be president. There is a large minority of Americans who feel that way and they are very vocal. We have become a nation of "Minority Rule" ... minority in ideas and thought, and goals and objectives. Just think about the fact that Joe Biden ran for President three times and dropped out each time because he never got more that 1 or 2% of even the Democrat voters. Yet, he is APPOINTED VP and next in line should something happen to Obama. It is so obvious that there is ANTI-AMERICAN rule in America that is against the vast majority of our citizens ... if our citizens are able to find the truth.
Obama became President because of the "fairness and decency" of the American people. It seemed like a good idea to have our first black President. 98% of blacks voted for him ... some just because he is black. Whites voted for him ... because it would be nice to have our first black President. The assumption was that if someone wanted to be President of the USA, he must love our country and want to lead. Obama was clearly NOT elected because of his vast experience nor because he and his views were widely known. Unfortunately, it has turned out that he and his machine do not share the traditional values of most Americans and he attained his position by "deception and lies."
Americans have been accepting of Muslims. We do believe in "Freedom of Religion." But again, a group of people has taken advantage of Americans. Islam is not a "Religion" that supports OUR belief in "Freedom of Religion" and they do not support our Constitution or our legal system. Thus, our traditional view of "fairness and decency" cannot apply in this case. They are not deserving of it.
Illegal aliens also seek to take advantage of America's "fairness and decency" by first ignoring our laws and soverignty. They seek to change our culture (check out LULAC and other Hispanic organizations) and they seek to attain, through theft and lawlessness, the result which American's have fought and died for.
You can help by deciding what YOU believe on these issues and why. Share your beliefs with others. Support candidates AROUND THE COUNTRY who have a chance to knock off a LIBERAL. Invest financially in our future yourself and encourage others to do the same. Point some middle-of-the-road friends to sites like this one where they can see for themselves what the liberal media refuses to report on.

So there was no market in the USSR and its sphere of influence for the products of the US defense industry and if anything one would expect the US defense industry to have argued that the Soviet threat was at a higher level than it actually was, in order to maximize the sales potential of their products. On the other hand a present day major customer of the US defense industry is Saudi Arabia, which spends huge sums of money indoctrinating Muslims in to the sort of Islamist ideology which had graphic and concrete expression in New York City on 9/11 2001. I am not seeking to single out the defense industry for criticism but I want to make the point that Islamonazism and Islamofascism are very different and much more dangerous with regard to in country internal subversion than Soviet Communism was, as they can reach in to areas like the US defense industry which would have been largely untouched by Soviet efforts. Because of the way that Islamonazisn and Islamofascism operate in establishing a very broad based sympathetic community, the in country threat they create can defeat many of the checks and balances which operate in a democratic society to limit and check, subversion of the liberties and interests of the citizens. To continue the relationship which America has with Saudi Arabia on the basis as it is currently maintained is in my view a non viable option, if one wishes to avoid a long term consequence of either Civil War in America or America becoming an Islamic state. Someone pointed me to this site and it is great. I have been praying that Obamacare does not pass and feel that we ALL need to pray. It is difficult to combat the evil and corruptness of our govenment, but we need to stick together and do it. Many Christians in America feel the presence of darkness that surrounds our great country. Homosexuality an abomination to God is rampant; the killing of babies through abortion is a sin (thou shall not kill) and millions of babies are killed every year; atheist are now tearing every word and every sign they can that has the word God in it, this makes God cry I'm sure. The Christmas nativities are no longer displayed because of a few that don't want to see them up (a reminder to Christians of the birth of their Savior). It is no longer politically correct to say Merry Christmas, etc. America is going down the drain ever so slowly. I believe the only way to bring America back is through fasting and praying. Getting down on our knees and asking God for forgiveness, asking God to forgive the land, to forgive those that mock Him, and to heal the land that we love. I'm sure that God loves America as much as we do, after all, America was dedicated to Him hundreds of years ago; and Mr. President, America IS a Christian nation, how dare you say it is not.
What to do? There is a great book written by James Robison "The Soul of a Nation". This book is so awesome, and right for the time. In it you will find 30 days, 30 issues and 30 prayers for America, to bring it back to God. I have bought 32 copies and have distributed them to the ladies in my church. They will read it, and when they are done with the 30 days of prayer, they can continue and start again, or they can pass it along to someone else to read. Americans need to make building strong families a priority. Our country has become weak because our families are weak. People need to really search out the true meaning and purpose of marriage and not get married unless it is for life. Speaking of torture, or recent child abuse topicin Eire, has the media ever shown the pain and agony an unborn child go through in a saline or partial birth abortion? No! Have people forgot the story 70 years ago when Mercury Theather played The War of the Worlds? People went crazy literally thinking we were being invaded by Marsians. Subject: Waterboarding as Torture
To me, torture is serious physical injury (broken bones) or permanent physical harm (whips, beatings to the head or major organs) inflicted to generate a desired response. Waterboarding certainly does not rise to that level. Neither does putting a caterpillar in the cell of someone who is afraid of them, for that matter. As a bivocational pastor now, and a former member of the Army, I have no problem with enhanced interrogation techniques, biblically, spiritually, or otherwise. I do have a problem with flying planes into buildings, strapping bombs onto children and blowing them up in civilian areas, and beheading people. So I am not going to get squeamish when people who have devoted their lives to protect us do what they need to do to make that happen. The people being questioned are not random civilians. They are known and recognized threats, and they have information on upcoming attacks, and we know this because they are the ones planning the attacks! From what we are seeing in the records, these interrogations are very controlled and closely monitored. I have no problem letting these things happen, or even helping conduct them myself, as they do not rise to the level of torture, and they obviously work. Pastor Chris R

Our Founders saw things very clearly and did not merely stumble across the statement on accident. "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." As the years have gone by I've come to realize that I was sold a false bill of goods, that things like lanuage and religion are what bind a culture together and we exclude religion from our public discourse at our own great peril. A democratic republic cannot function unless the politicans are chosen from an educated and moral citizenry and the Founding Fathers did everything they could to get that across in the Founding Documents and it seems the collectivits, Statists and Progressive types have spent the next 200 years trying to convince us they didn't. "IN God We Trust"
The first motto used on money in this country was approved by congress in June of 1782 and was first used in September of 1782. It included an eagle with a heart-shaped shield, holding arrows and an olive branch in its claws. The motto "E Pluribus Unum" appeared on a scroll held in its beak. ?E Pluribus Unum? is latin for ?One From Many? or also translated as ?One From Many Parts?. It refers to welding a federal government from a group of individual states. There was no mention of God on our money originally because the founding fathers created this country with separation of church and state in mind. In 1956, the nation was suffering through the height of the cold war, and the McCarthy communist witch hunt. Partly in reaction to these factors, the 84th Congress passed a joint resolution to replace the existing motto with "In God we Trust." The change was partly motivated by a desire to differentiate between communism, which promotes Atheism, and Western capitalistic democracies, which were at least nominally Christian. By 1966, "In God we Trust" was added to all paper money, from $1 to $100 denominations.

One term should not qualify anyone for a lifetime salary... ridiculous - we the people don't get that and neither should they. And since their actions have caused most Americans to lose their nest eggs, they should be there with us. They should pay into and receive Social Security like the rest of us. They require us to pay... so should they. What makes them better than us... don't they work for We the People?
If for no other reason than to save money (and I have many other than that), it's time to do away with their "special" health insurance, too. Our representatives should be required to get their own, third party health coverage, for at least ten years before they attempt (and that is being polite) to fix something they know nothing about. Most have been career politicians... what do they know about 3rd party coverage. This step would give them some knowledge about what they are going to legislate for us. What gives them to rip into our coverage while we continue to fund theirs. What makes them better than us... don't they work for We the People?
There should be a law, not a broken promise, that no Congressman or Senator can vote on legislation that they have not read and evaluated. If they want to vote before legislation is reviewed, fine, it should be mandatory that the package be read out loud for the members prior to the Vote. Only those present for the entire "reading" would be eligible to Vote.
Members of Congress and the Senate should be required by law to divest themselves of any financial holdings that might be influence, or even appear to influence, their positions. For example, Nancy Pelosi should not be allowed to hold any financial interest in "green technology" while pushing We the People to go green. These guys should not have the inside track and legislate themselves into prosperity.
These are just a few things off the top of my head...
After reading this part of the entire Ameritianity Site, I was surprised that someone else with more speaking power felt the same as I. I felt all these things, but could not put it into words. Needless to say, I did NOT vote for this man.
Also, after he started undoing things that President Bush (who is a Christian) the fear continued to grow even more. We need to show this President how wrong he is to go against Christianity which is what this Nation was founded on. From the beginning of his campaign I became apprehensive that the man was not who he pretended to be. I sensed he was dangerously ambitious and reckless. I think he wants nothing less than to be emperor of the planet. The U.S. presidency is merely a stepping stone to a greatly expanded and more influential U.N., which he will do everything to empower and promote.
From Barack Obama?s background I construe that he is not the least bit religious, despite his pretenses. His church attendance seemed to me a convenient means to gain access to political connections - nothing more. Whenever relatives, associates, even erstwhile ?mentors? became an inconvenient burden on his political aspirations, he showed no hesitation in dumping them. I have often wondered how long it will take Obama to rid himself of his family, should he encounter a more attractive lifestyle option.

During such perilous times, it is that my heart is finding fear. Our nation is on the verge of collapse, as the world is in an increasing state of immense turmoil.
I am one with a faith so strong that it has never been shaken. And yet, during these times I feel for the first time, genuinely scared for our people. Truly, deeply to my core
I feel something I have never felt before. And this feeling began three days before the newly elected president was voted in to office. Since, it has been growing steadily upon witnessing the decisions government leaders are making, which does not appear to be in the better interest of the people.
I have become consciously aware of the necessity to connect to others like me, in our faith. That we may walk this path with humility, graciousness, understanding, love- yet with fortitude and an enduring spirit in our obligation to continue standing in all that is truly right and good.
Do you know of any such resources? It is time the people come together, and in prayer, ask to be shielded from this storm. Love always Birdie

I think Mr Obama is an excellent speaker...and he is too often graded on his speaking abilities and not his ability to use them with the wisdom and clarity to govern. God gave Mr Obama a gift, a gift that lures many to listen and many to believe simply because he seems confident. Yet, Mr Obama abuses that gift, because he can. In his speech to the nation, just as in all his speeches, I hear narcisism...it is all "I have..." or "I inherrited a bad economy..." always blaming or pointing fingers of blame and taking sole credit for actions without crediting those who stand with him. He made it clear when he addressed the nation that he is still campaigning...which begs the question...who is he trying to convince...himself, the American people. And even more so, who IS he convincing...himself? We, as a country, a God fearing country have come a long way in our history to remove ourselves from government control and empower the individual. It appears that Mr Obama wishes to openly challenge that which we have spent hundreds of years earning and protecting. Such a shame a man with the talent to rally like he has, uses it the way he does.

Could allow customers, that will pay, up to 40 or 50 yrs., if necessary to repay, if regulators don't force the Banks to show these loans as restructured debt (which forces write off at time of set up); and, if have to foreclose, could allow the Banks to hold these properties at their book/present loan balance, in foreclosed RE (ORE), until they sell, without requiring the now required (FDIC Part 323) payment for a new appraisal and write down (Mark to Market) to new fair value amount every year. Continuing forced obtaining of new appraisals and write offs under FDIC Part 323 adds to costs and ongoing devaluation of all Real Estate values in Banks and marketplace, across the nation. We would rather continue to rely on the Free Market System and the work of the Church to each do their part. We have no problem with the government "regulating" - but they should not be taking over an industry or causing industry to fail. Greetings, I don't define myself necessarily as a religious man, though I know there are many definitions for that. My view of everything here in the USA is that separatism is inevitable. As you are acutely aware God's role in American society is slipping downhill. There are lobbyists and special interest groups that make a big noise any time they can if they think that they can in any way make their cause seem like a bigger deal than it should be. People claiming to represent ethnic or non-Christian factions find ways to direct the public attention to their "plights", which often include tales of discrimination that are exaggerated or certain details purposely left out. A few sympathizers go to Washington and next thing you know they can't be humorously depicted or spoofed in movies or television. Those who are of the particular group in question may not even care about the depiction for the most part, while many may find it humorous and not offensive. It's kind of an unfair representation of an ethnic or other group when just a few who choose to do battle with the United States legislature can create such widespread change. I also feel that even though many Americans and peoples coming from Latin America share the Catholic religion, there is a growing resentment in the United States of the imposition of the Latin American culture. Tolerance is the word our nation has asked to used when dealing with the diversity of cultures here. Tolerance as a word, to me, has always meant" putting up with something that causes discomfort in some manner or another". This tolerance that our government would like for everyone to subscribe to will almost certainly create a friction that more and more people will be unable to find tolerable. No one likes to have anything forced onto them, and those who are soon overcome by that pressure sooner or later will seek either relief or retaliation. I believe that given the current trends, population changes, increased Godless-ness, and increasing frustration by the American people in general that the United States of America is only going to continue to degrade and sadly may become the victim of division/secession. Dave: Thanks for your comment. Part of the focus we have on this site is to post statements, audio, video, of Obama PRIOR to his run for President as well as what he says now. Many of those who you say would differ with Obama do not attack him as a person but rather disagree with exactly what he has said he believes and wants. State's rights will have to be the rule and we'd be rid of the Congress that thinks that "they know best". In the early days of our country the congress was to meet 1 time per year.
