The Left Honors the Left and a Member of their National Program Advisory Board Written December 08, 2010
Great to see a Christian Leader get an award from an organization that is 100% committed to the removal of anything Christian from anything Government, that likes the idea of the removal of Christian Prayer from the public schools (we had it wrong in America for 150 years) which Christians are required to support with their tax dollars even though they do not agree with what is taught in public schools, but they can't get vouchers for sending their kids to private schools because that would be tax payers paying for education that they did not agree with, while Islamic CHARTER SCHOOLS in the USA are ok.
They also supported the removal of the Ten Commandments from our Courts and Schools, despite their being there for our first 150 years (we had it wrong again) and the fact that our Founding Fathers prayed and referred to the Ten Commandments as they wrote the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
If I remember correctly, Mr. Walkers discerning call to ministry led him to preach for........18 months?
Walker is in good company. At the 2010 First Freedom Awards Dinner held January 14, 2010 at the Richmond Marriot, three renowned advocates of religious freedom were honored at the First Freedom Awards Dinner. In commemoration of National Religious Freedom Day (January 16th), the First Freedom Center annually recognizes an international, national and Virginia award recipient. One of the 2010 recipients was:
President Abdurrahman Wahid (September 1940–December 2009). President Wahid passed away just weeks before the Dinner. He was the first democratically elected president of Indonesia and a proponent of secular democracy and moderate Islam.
According to the FFC web site, they have a grand total of five staff members. Their National Advisory Council includes:
The Honorable Madeleine K. Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State The Honorable Lawrence Eagleburger, former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State and former U.S. Secretary of State The Honorable Sandra Day O'Connor, Associate Justice, The Supreme Court of the United States Professor Steven C. Rockefeller, Professor emeritus of Religion, Middlebury College, and Chair of the Earth Charter Drafting Committee
Their National Program Advisory Board includes: J. Brent Walker, Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs (Yep)
Again, congratulations to the APB and Brent Walker. Condolences to Rep. Chet Edwards in only garnering 35% of votes from his constituents in Texas, which includes 30% who would vote Democrat regardless of who was running.
There is nothing quite like having "Christian Leaders" that do all they can to diminish the influence of Christianity in America.
